North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point recently added the next generation of advanced robot-assisted surgical technology with the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.WEST POINT, Miss. – North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point recently added the next generation of advanced robot-assisted surgical technology with the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Surgeons at NMMC-West Point have already performed more than 600 general and gynecologic procedures with da Vinci Si robotic-assisted surgical system. The new da Vinci Xi platform provides even more capability with the advanced technology, making surgery safer and more efficient.
“This technology allows our team to work smarter, while providing shorter hospital stays, less pain and faster recovery for our patients,” said Julie Knowles, director of Surgical Services at NMMC-West Point. “By investing in this state-of-the-art technology, NMMC-West Point can offer world class surgical care without the need to travel outside the local area.”
Benefits of the da Vinci Xi platform include:
- Enhanced vision: The new endoscope technology allows surgeons to see inside the body with greater clarity, improving safety.
- Greater precision: The robotic instruments move like a human hand but with more flexibility and accuracy, allowing for better control.
- Minimally invasive approach: Smaller incisions mean less pain, lower infection risk, and faster recovery times.
